Fetch is a revolutionary Revit add-on that makes it easy to quickly browse and insert models into projects. With Fetch, users can customize models with options such as number of shelves, construction type and more. In addition, you can sync your project to the fetch database for up-to-date product codes and pricing information. Today we will be teaching you how to use the Fetch application to easily search for and place models in your project. To get started, you will need to download the app from the link provided and create an account. Once installed, open the app either from your start menu or via the button in the Revit ribbon.
The Home Page displays blog posts, news as well as a carousel of recent model additions - this is where you can find families by using either the search bar or folder icon. You can also view product types and markets by clicking on their respective tabs. Selecting a family reveals details such as name, description, included data files (name and size). The three dot menu contains additional documentation related to the project as well as an insert button - clicking on the star icon adds this model to your Favorites page for easy access later on.
To place a model in your project, enter its desired family in the search bar and click on its image once found; doing so will display a notification of loading progress followed by an insertion window - simply select where on your project you want to place it before pressing enter (or hit spacebar to rotate accordingly). You have now placed a model! From here you can head over to 3D view or properties section for customization options based on family type (e.g., number of shelves/shelve dimensions) - click 'Edit Type' for standardized measurements if needed before applying changes with ‘Apply’ button.
Finally, keep your data fresh by syncing with Fetch’s database via ‘Sync’ button from both main page or Revit ribbon tab – updates usually include product codes, budgetary pricing and other important documentation based on modification/options selected e.g., newly updated product code post width adjustment for palette rack example from earlier in tutorial video (300 inches). If multiple families require updating simultaneously then select ‘Update All’ option from main page instead of manual selection – convenient!
In summation, Fetch provides users with an effective means of inserting models into projects while customizing them according to needs: all within a few clicks! It also enables quick access to frequently used models via Favorites page feature plus seamless data synchronization through database integration – ensuring accuracy throughout entire duration of project development process without sacrificing speed/efficiency due its user-friendly interface design.
